Road Closures & Detours - Phase 1

BEGINNING MONDAY APRIL 20TH

Pine Street (Milwaukee to Chestnut Street) and Chestnut Street (Milwaukee Avenue to Pine Street) are scheduled to close long-term to traffic through summer 2026.

This is noted by the RED section in the image.

Parking on Milwaukee Avenue (Pine Street to Kane Street) is scheduled to be restricted during this phase as crews work to build bumpouts at the Milwaukee Avenue/Chestnut Street intersection.

This is noted by the ORANGE section in the image.

Pine Street from E Washington to Chestnut will become one-way.  Parallel parking will remain on one side of the street; angled parking will be added to the opposite side of the street during Phase 1.

This is noted in the YELLOW section of the image.

If you are traveling SW on Pine Street from Bridge Street or Dodge Street, you will be rerouted to E Washington Street via Alley 36.

Access to residences and businesses in the impacted areas will be maintained for the duration of this closure. Closures, detours and timing subject to change.

Please check out https://www.burlington-wi.gov/586/2026-Downtown-Pine-Street-Project for additional information.

For detour routes, motorists are encouraged to use W State Street, Bridge Street, Milwaukee Avenue, and N Pine Street to get around the closure.

These are noted by the BLUE section in the image.

2026 Downtown Pine Street Construction

About the Construction Project:

We want to make sure our Buzzed family is up-to-date on the 2026 Downtown Pine/Chestnut Street construction project beginning this spring.

Pine Street will be torn up from Milwaukee to Jefferson to complete some needed utility work as well as address the deteriorating pavement and sidewalks.

The construction includes the sidewalks which means everything from doorway to doorway will be torn up.  While this will be a bit of an inconvenience this summer, the end result will be a beautiful downtown (and the bricks will be removed from the sidewalk!!!!)

As of early March, the city has approved a bid and awarded the construction contract to LaLonde Construction. Construction is scheduled to begin on Monday, April 20th.

They have broken the construction out into 2 phases, Buzzed falls under phase one. This phase is expected to be completed by July 31st.

What does this mean for coming to Buzzed?

  • We will continue to host events so planning your trips to Buzzed can be a little easier! Stay tuned for our Lake Days Tasting, French Wine Tasting and Made in America Tasting to celebrate America’s birthday!!
  • We will continue to partner with our friends at other businesses to keep giving you unique events and pop ups!
  • We will try to maintain our normal business hours as best as possible . . . we hope foot traffic in Burlington will be strong throughout the construction!

How will I enter Buzzed?

  • We have been told that the construction company will leave our entrances accessible when they finish up for the day
  • We have been told the sidewalk area and door entrances will be fully accessible for all
  • Parking will be reduced so we encourage you to use the city parking garage and parking lot located behind Buzzed
  • We do have a back entrance that can be used, it will be marked with our logo and name on the back door. Please note, there is a set of stairs you must climb to use the back entrance.

What should I do during construction?

  • Please continue to support your local businesses during this time! We understand it won’t be as easy to run down and grab a glass of wine or pick up that cute new Quotes + Cotton shirt, but we need your continued support.
  • Follow your favorite local businesses on social media to stay up to date on changes and updates.
  • Stay informed about what is going on in the city and use your voice with your aldermen and city staff. City Council meetings are open to the public and streamed live on the 1st & 3rd Tuesday of each month. I encourage you to attend or watch these meeting so you can make sure the decisions makers are actually speaking on your behalf.
